How Wolverton G&S Society is funded
Subscriptions
Membership subscriptions
Our members contribute £17.50 a month or £210 annually. We have a hardship fund to assist those who want to participate but are not able to afford the full subscription.
Ticket sales
Tickets, raffles and programmes
Ticket sales are essential for our survival. To keep prices affordable, we also raise funds through programme sales and raffles.
Donations
We receive donations
Generous music lovers from within our society, our audiences, and both local and international supporters donate to the society. We offer incentive programmes to reward our Friends and Patrons.
What we spend the money on
Community
Everyone can take part
We believe in the power of theatre to bring communities together. Our great shows are not just there for the well-off to take part.
We keep our membership subscriptions affordable and provide financial support to people who cannot pay the full cost of membership.
Accessibility
Everyone can see our shows
We strive to make the arts accessible to everyone.
We keep ticket prices affordable, inviting diverse audiences to enjoy the beauty of Gilbert and Sullivan’s masterpieces and all our other great musicals.
Quality
The Shows
Our shows are our biggest expense. From the first rehearsal to the dress rehearsal, we cover costs for venue hire and accompanists. For the show itself, we pay for theatre hire, a live orchestra, costumes, and set, ensuring an immersive experience for our audience.
How you can help
By being a Friend or Patron of Wolverton Gilbert and Sullivan Society, you are not just supporting the arts; you are becoming a part of the magic that unfolds on stage. Your generosity will echo through the applause, laughter, and shared moments of joy that our productions create.
To express our gratitude, we offer various donation tiers with exclusive perks, such as free programmes, our society newsletter, privileged advance booking for our shows, vouchers to spend on tickets and invitations to social events.

Karen Jones is our Friends and Patrons secretary. She will make sure you get programme vouchers, advance booking notices, free ticket vouchers and invitations etc.
Just use one of the donation methods above or make a cheque out to Wolverton G&S Society and post to her and she’ll do the rest.
