Angela Bowen
Angela Bowen was in our very first production. She played the part of Buttercup in our 1975 HMS Pinafore. She went on to star in our shows right up until 2015 with occasional breaks for family – and opera.
Angela’s fine singing voice and acting skills illuminated roles such as Phoebe, Mrs Cripps, Ruth and, of course, Mad Margaret!

She was chair of our society in the late 80s and was subsequently chosen as our president. She served from 2010 until 2015 and was asked back in 2019.
Not just a fine singer, Angela has great acting talent too. Here she is as a menacing Inez in the 2015 production of The Gondoliers.
She is our current president and helps our society in all manner of ways from pep talks at rehearsals to hosting invited celebrities and critics at our performances.
