Fred Cornford

Fred Cornford was a founder member of the Wolverton Gilbert and Sullivan Society in 1974. In addition to being a very fine bass singer he was the society chairman for the vital early years. He is pictured here with the peers chorus in the first production of Iolanthe in 1977.

Fred recorded an interview with Cathy Lambert for the Living Archive about Wolverton Gilbert and Sullivan Society. You can listen to it here.

Fred performed with the society right up until 2001. Here he is with Vernabelle Brissenden as Sergeant Meryll in our 1982 production of The Yeomen of the Guard.
