WLO Christmas Concert Choir
Sing great music with the Wolverton Light Orchestra!

In Full Flow
Wolverton G&S are providing choir rehearsal facilities for this annual feast of festive music.
We are delighted that Mike Crofts has entrusted us with recruiting and rehearsing a choir to sing with his Wolverton Light Orchestra for their Christmas Concert.
The venue
The concert is at Stantonbury theatre on Sunday 6th December starting at 7:30 pm. There will be a rehearsal to sing with the orchestra in the afternoon.
Rehearsals
The rehearsals are on Fridays and Wednesdays.
Rehearsals begin at 7:30 pm on Friday 20th November at West End United Church, Wolverton under the baton of Kim Bennett. Our second rehearsal venue is Christ Church, Stantonbury on Wednesdays.
We urge you to attend all five rehearsals if at all possible but don’t rule yourself out if you can’t, especially if you are a more confident singer.
Who can be in the choir?
This a free event open to all singers. You don’t need to be able to read music either.
All the vocal lines are here for you to practise.
The scores are freely available to download and view on your phone or tablet.
There will be limited supply of printed copies for people who don’t have the hardware to view or print their music.

The music
Of course, Christ the King by local composer Harold Nutt will be sung as usual. There will be other traditional favourites, as well as the well-known audience carols.
As in recent years, we will have some musical oddities too. Last year we sang “Christmas in 3 Minutes” and “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”. We’ll have just as much fun this year!
The final programme will be released closer to the date.

Learning resources
We will provide scores for download and printed copies will be available on request.
The resources page will have music files for each vocal part.
The whole idea is to make it as easy as possible to learn your part.
