Tony Selby

Tony Selby joined us in 1976. He was in the chorus of nobles in that first production of The Mikado. His talent was quickly realised and he went on to sing most of the lead G&S tenor roles, starting as Earl Tolloller in our inaugural 1977 Iolanthe.

Here is Tony as Marco Palmieri together with his partner Tricia Goldsmith. Tony sang the role of Marco in The Gondoliers three times. His rendition of Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes being a particular favourite.

Tony was not only a principal performer, of course. He went on to direct another three shows with us, finishing with Trial by Jury in 2002.
