Wayne Oakes
Wayne’s stage appearances were far too few. He is a magnificent character actor. Here he is as Sir Richard Cholmondley with Roger Whatmore as Jack Point in our 2003 Yeomen of the Guard. Apart from his acting, Wayne’s greatest contribution to our society was as treasurer for many years.
Here is Wayne in his most recent role with us. He was Lord Overcoat in our 2017 production of Jack the ripper.
Wayne took over the treasurership from the redoubtable Bert Coleman and steered the society into the digital age of banking. As treasurer, his wise advice was enormously helpful to the committee and we owe him a great debt of thanks.
