The Mikado
Or the Town of Titipu
Five Mikados
The first production
Wolverton G&S have performed The Mikado 5 times.
Our first production of The Mikado was in 1976. The photograph on this page is an AI enhanced copy of the 48 year old original. Reg Baker and Mary Clayton were a suitably terrifying Mikado and Katisha.
That show was directed by Fred Wells and the musical director was Arnold Jones
Further productions followed in 1986, 1995 and 2007. Our most recent performance of this show was in 2016 directed by Richard Fraser. Mike Crofts was the musical director.
In that most recent production, KoKo was played by Paddy Marshall. Nigel Harvey was the Mikado and his sister Catherine was Katisha.
Tom Pearson and Paula Fraser were Nanki Poo and Yum Yum.
